What’s going on in Afghanistan

The Taliban recently seized the country’s second-largest city Kandahar, and now thousands who fled their hometowns for safety in Kabul live in fear as the Taliban close in on the capital. With little access to food or safety, a heartbreaking humanitarian crisis continues to take place. 

Kabul’s international airport saw masses of people desperate to escape. As flights prepared to depart, people clung to the sides of military planes as they taxied down the runway.
