How do you celebrate Women’s History Month?
Women should be celebrated every day of the year. I celebrate by spending quality time with female colleagues and supporting their business endeavors all year round!
Which women (executives & artists) in the music industry have inspired you & how?
This industry is full of incredibly brilliant and talented female creatives and executives. I’ve named only a tiny fraction of them below. Aside from their obvious brilliance, all these women have a unique experience that helped to shape their career journey. In addition to their personal accolades these women have fostered growth of many artists, songwriters, and fellow executives. Their creativity and strategic minds continue to inspire me to become a future leader.
Executives:
- Wendy Goldstein
- Antoinette Trotman
- Theda Sandiford
- Nikita Chauhan
These artists are known for consistently pushing boundaries lyrically and visually, standing up for their beliefs, and exemplifying authenticity in their music. This not only inspires me professionally, but always serves as a reminder to stay true to myself and to live every day authentically.
Artists:
- Beyonce
- Tems
- Jessie Reyez
- Joy Oladokun
- Koffee
- Missy Elliott
Can you please give your advice to a young woman beginning their career in the music industry?
Continue to build relationships with the individuals you are eager to learn from. Be intentional and goal oriented in every career step that you take, but don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way. Always be ready to pivot and if your path changes, use this time to grow and learn along the way.
What makes you proud to identify as a woman?
Being part of a unique community of women that continue to break barriers, evolve, and shatter glass ceilings is what makes me proud to identify as a woman.

What song/artist do you feel encapsulates what it is to be a woman and why?
There are too many, but one classic that stands out is “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree. It’s all about the process of discovering who you are as a person throughout your life. Always being “bold,” “wiser,” “stronger,” etc. It’s a universal message that every woman can relate to.
