Name: Keisha Phillip
Job title: Assistant to EVP of Republic Records
Instagram handle: @Keishatessa
Preferred pronouns: Her/She
How do you observe Earth Month?
I try to up cycle old clothing as much as possible. I also buy a lot of new house plants at that time.
What inspired you to become passionate about the environment?
As a clothing designer, who loves fashion and everything that comes with it, I soon realized how much the industry contributed to the downfall of our planet. I was inspired to do better as someone who was a part of that industry, adding my first collection fully dedicated to being ecofriendly.
What steps do you take in your daily life to reduce your impact on the environment?
I recycle, I also have a filtered water system in my home, and I try to buy from ecofriendly businesses as much as I can.
How do you stay informed about being eco-friendly?
I follow NASA on Instagram, I also enjoy doing research on different topics that can affect/impact our earth.
What can we do to encourage others to become more environmentally conscious?
I believe it’s not a sprint, so we must take it one day at a time. I believe educating people on a regular basis will eventually make a difference.
What is your most pressing concern about our Earth and what steps do you think we can take to start implementing a change to the concern?
It will be Climate Change for me. We can start by cutting down less trees, as well as not building on landscape we have no concern for touching.
Is there an environmentally friendly brand, product or organization that you’d like to shout out & why?
I would like to shout out BOHATY by Keisha Tessa of course, but another brand that I like will have to be Sami Miro Vintage. I love how much she contributes to using sustainable materials, while making amazing fresh designs.
